Landscape and Macro Photographer

Tom Croce believes that photography begins with the act of seeing, it is the art of noticing and seeing the beauty in nature and capturing that moment. Through his images Tom works to create environmental portraits that are expressions of the emotion and feeling of a place at the time of making the exposure, and to create images that capture a sense of time and place.

Join us in the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains for three days of photographing elk in the Cataloochee Valley and landscapes and fall color along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The weather is always a determining factor in the exact schedule, but a tentatively we will plan on spending one or two evenings along the Blue Ridge Parkway, weather permitting we may do some night photography.

We will spend mornings in Cataloochee Valley Photographing the Elk rut. In order to insure the maximum amount of personal attention the number of participants for this workshop is limited to 12.

Participants should have a strong understanding of exposure and know how to operate your camera. Each day’s schedule will vary depending on the weather, but in general we will be photographing all day. This will be hands on learning and all questions and issues will be addressed in the field. General Itinerary – Plan to arrive on September 27th in Maggie Valley. We will meet for a quick dinner, Q&A, and orientation, and we will head out for a sunset along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The 28th & 29th we will spend shooting in Cataloochee, where we will get there early to shoot the elk and then spend the morning exploring the landscape and rustic structures.

The fee for this workshop is $400.00 and is for instruction only. All other expenses, including travel, accommodations and meals are the responsibility of the participants.
